Boston, Check out the New Guy

So it's after the draft... and other than JaMarcus Russell impressing everyone with the arm we ALL knew he had, and Cleveland not completely satisfied with Brady Quinn (Surprise... again, 5-11 this season for Romeo), I still say the best thing that came fromt he Draft was the New England pick pocketting of the Oakland Raiders. To get Randy Moss for a 4th round pick is absolutly nuts. Sure Oakland knew they had a lame duck who wanted out, and Randy is an off-the-field issue anywhere. But if anyone can make him the Headliner for what he did on SUNDAYS ONLY...Bill Belichick can do it. But is he really worth it? I say... You bet your ass he is!

First off, I am not a Randy Moss fan by any means. He may not have the big vertical or speed he had when he was 22 (however Belichick has said he clocked him at 4.37 in a private workout), and he may not be Troy Brown who would do anything for the Pats, but it still must be said... He's pretty damn good. But here's the kicker? If you were on the other side of 30 and have been in the league for a decade, and still you're finger is without NFL gold, annndddd you were just playing for the Raiders, wouldn't you do anything someone asked of you to end up on a team that has the ability to make you immortal?

Duh!

No Randy Moss will not be Mr. New England. No, he isn't coming to New England to be a part of a great organization. Let's face it, he was miserable for 2 years in Oakland, and New England is just a little step up...as in so high even his vertical in '99 wouldn't have put him on the pedestal that New England sits atop the AFC to everyone but San Diego, Indy, and maybe Baltimore. Randy was, at one time, argued to be better than Rice when it was all said and done; and he screwed it up. Now he has the ability to regain that spotlight attention for his ON-FIELD actions and add one maybe more Super Bowl rings to his renewed Hall of Fame career. He sure as S%$# wasn't on that path with 500 yard receiving seasons like last year in Oakland.

So, Randy, on behalf of New England, Welcome! Please, enjoy Faneull Hall! Enjoy the Charles River! Enjoy the tailgating outside Gillette and the happy faces who will greet you with your new jersey, but so help us God... don't screw it up. Because this ain't Oakland, and it sure as hell ain't Minnesota and we will run you out if you don't play ball Bill and Tom's way... and let's face it...Bill and Tom play ball our way.

Now go find some NFL bling for your finger...
